Week 2 Post: My Weekend (9/19/25) - (9/21/25)

Friday (9/19/25)

My weekend began on Friday 9/19, after Chem 1 lab ended at 1 pm but my partner and I finished our density experiment by 12:45 pm giving us about 20 minutes to spare. With that time I quickly rushed out of Edison Hall straight to my car, as I drove out of the parking lot into the highway my stomach took over my brain. Grumbling noises filled my car and the thought of Taco Bell seemed so necessary to end my hunger. While driving I figured out the best route get to the nearest Taco Bell near my house in the quickest time with less traffic in my head.

The estimated time to reach was 1:23 pm, considering I was heading into peak traffic it didn't seem so bad. Going into the drive-thru I look at the menu for a couple mins before deciding on 2 supreme crunchy tacos with refined beans, 3 supreme chalupas with black beans, a medium Baja blast (my favorite drink), and a 12 pack of Cinnabons balls. As I was about to finish ordering I take another glance at the menu and saw the desert section has a Carmel apple empanada. This intrigued me and I was a huge fan of the Cinnabon balls Taco Bell already had to offer and wanted to try something new. After picking up my order I headed straight home to eat in the comfort of my own kitchen.

By the end of the day stuffed from eating so many tacos, I decided to FaceTime a friend from high school who is currently in a study abroad program in the University of Glasgow. Now I will admit I did not know which country Glasgow was in so I had to google it before FaceTiming her. My friend and I knew each other since sophomore year but did not get closer until our senior year of high school when we had taken AP Art History together. The class fascinated me a lot not just because our teacher was a wonderful person who was great a teaching but also because I am someone who is passionate about history and art and seeing two combine into one was a fun class for me. And having multiple projects and going to the MET in NYC as a school trip with her made us bond and talk over many things that we never knew we had in common. So in our FaceTime call that lasted for 3 hours we talked about our summer, how our live have been, tv shows we've watched, how college is, and other miscellaneous topics ending my day with the call.

                                                                    Saturday (9/20/25)

This weekend was the usual I woke up around 8:30 am, spent hours on my phone and then got ready for the day by 11 am. My mother made dosa, a traditional Indian breakfast made of a thin crisp bread topped with seasoned potatoes and coconut chutney all homemade, for the entire family to which my siblings and I all ate. Then I had my usual chai with my parents and spent the entire of Saturday catching up on tv shows I was watching.

                                                        Sunday (9/21/25)

On Sunday, I woke up at 10 am to the sound of my father shouting from downstairs for my sibling and I to get up because he had bought avocados and bread. To be honest I have no idea why he thought that was so special or thought that was going to wake us up but none the less I got ready and went to the kitchen where I was treated with a loaf of bread (we don't usually eat bakery style bread loafs), a jar of cherry jam  and cut vegetables. Watch my sister make herself a sandwich gave me the same idea myself but with a twist.

So looking around the freezer for a package of turkey bacon that I know we had bought in a grocery store in NYC but knew know finished eating, I thawed 2 slices and fried up the pan to crisp the bacon. During that, I toasted both slices of bread with butter, layer one side with the cherry jam and the other with mayo, added tomatoes, onions, and avocados on top of the cherry jam's side. Then when the bacon was done, I added it on top of all the vegetables, sprinkled some salt, and fished the sandwich by cleanly cutting it into half.

My weekend wasn't anything special but it was relaxing and stress free. A little vacation from the massive headache I will be suffering from this week starting Monday as a result of 4 tests, an essay due, and many many homework assigned.
